IS2 Cardiac Camera

The Challenge:
The goal was to create a cost effective gamma imaging camera for the clinical environment that would compete directly with larger, more established companies. DW was responsible for product image, ergonomics and the design of all covers for fixed and moving components.

Accomplishments:
• a high degree of fit and finish was achieved with custom formed panels fastened to main structure
• the two camera heads that rotate around the patient were effectively concealed
• assembly procedures were simplified and access for maintenance improved
• graphic development of the control panels and hand controller resulted in intuitive and accurate user control
• both technician and patient ergonomics were carefully considered
• an articulated bed improved patient support
• National Post / Design Exchange Gold Award

Responsibilities: Full industrial design, 3D CAD geometry for cover parts & mold base, graphic development, and manufacturer liaison.
